This hunting lease is located less than 10 miles from Walton, New York. This property is an active dairy farm and is broken into 3 sections by roads. The roads will aid access to the property for almost any wind direction. Also, bordering the north and west border is an additional 46 acres the city owns and is open to public hunting. However the access is limited by the roads and terrain (steep from road) which makes it hard to access unless entering from this lease. The landowner and I saw lots of deer sign and had a bobcat cross right in front of us. The property does have some fenced in pasture. The woods on the south east piece is beautiful and has many apple trees scattered around the edges. The border of the woods and pasture has a lane that contains many apple trees and a well used deer trail. The little section on the north-west border has a nice established ATV trail right to the city property. This is a really nice hard woods. The piece of property between the 2 roads has a small stream lined with willows and brush making for perfect bedding area for the deer. The landowner stated she sees deer and turkey regularly on the property. Also, there is a bear seen regularly in the area. The property is posted. ATV use and Camping are allowed for hunting purposes only. Must stay on established trails. The landowner also has fifth wheel Camper that she would negotiate use if needed!
